not strictly CVs, it can be argued....
The following are observations of symbiotic (Z And) stars dating at UT 20060401.0. They are made at CBA Pretoria (Bronberg Observatory) with a V filtered CCD. The given magnitudes are compared to those from observations made in 2004-2005 at CBA Pretoria and from published data at much earlier times in the form (.../...). Some of those earlier magnitudes refer to bright states of those stars, possibly observed during their discovery as Z And stars. Not much is known about most of the listed symbiotic stars.
* indicates a likely outbursting stage (speculative, a subjective assessment of the reporting observer...)
AE Ara 11.43 (12.7/12.5) *
V366 Car 12.78 (13.6/13.0) *
V417 Cen 11.06 (11.5/12.2) * ongoing since about 2 years (AAVSO observations by A Jones)
Hen2-176 15.8 (17.0/15.0) *
LMC N67 15.3 (16.0/15.9) *
V347 Nor 15.6 (16.2/16.6)
V343 Ser/AS 289 11.95 (12.7/12.1)
V919 Sgr 12.0 (13.2/12.2) possibly a bright SR maximum, not an outburst
SS73 96 13.5 (15.0/15.2) *
Th 3-7 15.9 (17.0/14.0)
Ve 2-57 15.3 (16.2/12.5)
Note that the reported observations are taken from a list of nearly 200 stars that are regularly observed at CBA Pretoria. Except for systems with a Mira or SR type donor star or those that undergo eclipses, the observed magnitudes changed very little over a period of two years. This has been the case with those reported above in the period 2004-2005.
