Hi all,

After revisiting the observing data I am able to comment further on
this not well known CV.
All information is based on unfiltered CCD photometry done at CBA
Pretoria.

Precise eclipse minima were registered on JD (-2450000) 3937.4344,
3940,5902 and 3990,3036. The derived orbital period is 0.3501d +/-
0.00003d oftewel (which also is) 8.40h.

The mean magnitude between eclipses was 16.2 mostly (refered to as high
state) and 16.9 (refered to as low state). A secondary eclipse is
clearly present as a symmetrical dip in the light curve.
Possibly there are outbursts occurring as well. See the brighter
magnitude in the table.

The following observations apply. They indicate nightly means in
between eclipses unless the added * refers to a snapshot observation.
Magnitudes were derived assuming C=13.7R @ 22 56 47.092 -27 44 17.45,
 UCAC2# 20530117

JD (-2450000), CR magnitude

3689.28, 16.8 *
3855.66, 15.6 *
3934.62, 16.2
3935.55, 16.2
3936.55, 16.2
3937.55, 16.2
3940.45, 16.4
3955.55, 16.9
3990.40, 16.2
3993.35, 16.5
4002.30, 16.8

2QZ J225647-2743 shows properties reminiscent of GY Hya, which has a
similar orbital period and which I reported on on 31 May 2005.
Possibly they are not the same type. Both CVs are not well studied
