New DN in Cam (OT_J055718++683226) confirmed

We started a time-series observation of this new dwarf nova
at about 13:30 UT. After our preliminary reduction, we have
confirmed superhumps with a very short period of 0.053(1) d.
Sample light curves and images can be seen at:

http://home.hiroshima-u.ac.jp/hasc/kanata/j0557/index.html

We will update this page later.

The humps have a single peak. It indicates that they
are not "early humps" which are usually observed in a very early
phase of WZ Sge-type outbursts. So, the object could be a
WZ Sge-type dwarf nova, but it would not be in a very early
phase of the superoutburst.

If this is a real superhump period, it is the shortest one in
SU UMa stars (cf. Imada et al. 2006, PASJ, 58, L23).

Time-series observations are encouraged.
