The very unusual cataclysmic variable DW Cnc is reported
to be undergoing an outburst. The object has a very short
orbital period of 0.059793 d, and also an intermediate polar.
Historically, the object had been classified as a dwarf nova
(catalog range 15-17.5), but has been relatively constant
recently. We may be witnessing a transition to a "dwarf nova"
state from a NL-type state (??), or it may be a phenomenon
different from an ordinary outburst. Further observations,
including time-resolved photometry, are strongly encouraged.
Being also an IP, relatively short integration time would be
recommended rather than long exposures.
