Hello all,

Attached are 2 postscript plots showing spectra of N Cen 2007 obtained last
night with the SMARTS 1.5m RC spectrograph.

The H-alpha line has an equivalent with of about 930 Angstroms and a FWHM
of 60 A. There is a possible wind absorption feature at -2550 km/s (6507 A).
There seems to be P-Cygni structure near the NA D lines.

The blue spectrum is highly structured. H-gamma and H-delta are in emission
with wind absorption at about -2000 km/s; there is still an optically-thick
photosphere.

Sure looks line a classical nova near maximum.

We'll follow this one for a while.

Cheers,
Fred
