Using observations between March 13 and 18 (by Nakamima-san,
Maehara-san and Kiyota-san), a semi-periodic signal of 0.07801(2) d
has been detected in addition to regular eclipses. This period is
2.7% longer than the orbital period. The mean amplitude was 0.25 mag.
I would have usually declared the detection of superhumps in
V893 Sco and thereby confirming "a new eclipsing SU UMa-type dwarf
nova", the relatively low brightness level (around 13.5-14.2 mag)
makes me confusing. They could have been superhumps not restricted
to superoutbursts, or have we been observing a precursor-like
outburst? The last observation seems to show some trend of
brightening, suggesting that the object may brighten to a full
superoutburst??
In any case, further time-resolved photometry is strongly
encouraged before reaching a final conclusion.
