Dear all,

Gianluca Masi (as reported) and Nakajima-san obtained V1006 Cyg
photometry during the first nights of the outburst.
The data show low-amplitude modulations as reported by Masi.
Due to the short baseline, it is still difficult to discriminate
Porb and non-Porb signals, but the presence of a clear periodicity
close to the Porb suggests the presence of superhump-like modulations.
Masi's data on the second night also suggests a slow fading trend at
0.18 mag/d. It is still premature to interpret the nature of this
fading, but the coexistent (super)hump-like signal may be a signature
of precursor-like phenomenon seen in some SU UMa-type superoutbursts
(e.g. QZ Vir = T Leo 1993, http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/1997PASJ...49..583K
-- more comments from Imada-san are anticipated).
In this case, the hump signal is expected to grow rapidly.
Further continuous observations are very strongly encouraged.
