Nova Vul 2007 up to now.
Thanks to Martin Nicholson's multicolor data, we can now see
a good picture of "oscillations". Following the second maximum,
the nova faded in the B and V bands while it brightened in the
R and I band. This trend was followed by a sharp rise in B and V
during the third maximum. The same feature was likely present
between the initial peak and the second maximum.
These observations suggest (particularly in I-band which is less
affected by emission lines) that these early stage oscillations
were a result of dramatic temperature (color temperature) variations
making the emission peak crossing across the V band (as in luminous
blue variables = LBVs or in rho Cas).
A more extensive SED analysis would clarify whether the temperature
variation or luminosity (or extinction) variation is more responsible.
