IAUC No. 8895 reports the discovery of a bright nova (mv=7.0) in Puppis by
Alfredo Jose Serra Pereira, Carnaxide, Portugal.
The position of this nova is as follows (from IAUC 8895):

R.A. = 8h16m18s.01, Decl. = -34o15'24".1 (J. E. McGaha)
R.A. = 8h16m17s.99, Decl. = -34o15'25".0 (J. Young and H. Rhoades)

Follow-up photometry and spectroscopy are strongly encouraged.
