Hi,

I would like to stress that my last reported observation of V1017 Sgr is not an isolated one. Therefore herewith the whole set of observations from Bronberg, as was reported sometime earlier. I am presently not subscribed to many lists of interest and our internet flow seems to be unreliable, so you are welcome to forward this posting or its content to other variable star lists.

V1017 Sgr is one of about 200 stars that are periodically monitored at the Bronberg Observatory / CBA Pretoria. They are considered symbiotic stars or suspects of the kind. The observations were made with 12" LX200 resp RCX400 telescopes and a CCD camera ST-7 with V filter.

The comparison star used is at position 18 32 14.095 -29 23 47.13 . The accepted V magnitude is 12.0. The true value of this star is possibly closer to 12.06V. I have checked its constancy!

I really wished I could fill in some more points now. Observatories near the equator or just North of it must be able to still do so...
