FL TrA preliminary results
We performed a period analysis of FL TrA using the data sets
which were kindly sent by B. Monard in 27-31 July.
As reported by him in [vsnet-alert 8593], the object keep on
showing superhumps. The amplitude of superhumps slightly decreased
to 0.15mag on 30-31 July. The mean period is 0.059875(16) day,
a very short period, which is reminiscent of the WZ Sge class,
while early humps were not confirmed even in the first night (27 July).
The behavior of superhumps is quite typical for short-period
SU UMa stars; the superhump period first decreased, and then, it is
now increasing. If all short-period SU UMa stars have the common
properties of superhump period changes, the period will again
start decreasing just before a rapid fading phase.
Follow-up observations are encouraged.
