Thanks to an alert from Patrick Schmeer, Tracy Davis and I
observed EI Psc from the RIT Observatory on 2005 Aug 08 UT,
from Aug 08.16 to Aug 08.36 = JD 390.66 - 390.86.
We used unfiltered 30-second observations. During this time,
the star rose gradually by about 0.15 mag, while at the same
time showing oscillations of amplitude about 0.05 mag and
period roughly 64-67 minutes. It appears that this star
may be just reaching the peak of a superoutburst.
You can read a report of our work, with finding charts,
light curves, and references, at
http://spiff.rit.edu/richmond/ritobs/aug07_2005/aug07_2005.html
The measurements themselves are available from that page,
or directly via
http://spiff.rit.edu/richmond/ritobs/aug07_2005/eipsc_aug08ut.dat
This looks like a very good target. Greg Bolt has just
reported that, about 8 hours after our measurements, the star's
oscillations have increased in amplitude. If the star follows
the same evolution as it did in 2001, we can expect about 10 days
or so of outburst.
