I understand that the genus _Cyanoptila_ was introduced relatively
recently. The species was originally in genus _Muscicapa_
(Temminck, C.J. & Laugier de Chartrouse, M. 1829. Nouveau Recueil de Planches
Coloriees d'Oiseaux, pour servir de suite et de complement aux planches
enluminees de Buffon. Livr 79), and was later in genus _Ficedula_.
The DNA hybridization technique is somewhat outdated; you might find
interesting: "Phylogenetic relationships of 18 passerines based on Adenylate
Kinase Intron 5 sequences" DOI 10.1007/s11676-008-0041-4
The corresponding scientific names for variable stars are GCVS names,
and no one probably dare to 'rename' or 'reassign' GCVS designations.
These scientific names, or biological taxonomy, are different from
something like my_checklist:ID090705:123, even if this ID refers to
a new species.
