Data Reduction of Photometric Observations of Variable Stars Using the Variable Stars Calculator

Vitalii V. Breus,

Department "High and Applied Mathematics", Odessa National Maritime University, Ukraine
Department of Astronomy, Odessa National University, Ukraine

The software could be used as for processing of visual photometric observations of variable stars, as for processing of photoelectric or CCD data.
Some features of the program:
•	Conversion of estimates of brightness on the Niyland - Blazhko method into stellar magnitudes
•	Transformation of the numbers of photo plates into the Julian dates
•	Barycentric correction
•	Phase curve calculation and viewing
•	Calculation of the period of brightness variations (Lafler & Kinman's method)
•	Determine extremes of brightness of any star (signal of any nature)
•	Principal component analysis (PCA) of multi-channel signals
•	Partial restoration of signal (PCA filtration)
•	Graph viewer
•	Saving of the curve into popular graphical formats
•	Viewing double-channel diagrams for multi-channel data.
The program uses plain text input files with space-separated columns. The data file should contain the value of time (JD, HJD/BJD), one or multiple columns (UBVRI photometry etc) of the signal value and possible comments column. The program currently has an English, Russian and Ukrainian interface, user-editable unlimited language files.

The program can be downloaded from web site of Ukrainian association of variable stars observers:
