The 60cm BOOTES-5/JGT robotic telescope at Observatorio Astronomico Nacional in San Pedro Martir (Mexico) automatically responded in 54 s to the Swift trigger of GRB 210824A (Page et al., GCNC 30700) , a burst which was also detected by Fermi (Fermi GBM team, GCNC 30699). In the co-added clear image (10 x 10 s), no optical afterglow is detected within the X-ray afterglow position (Page et al., GCNC 30700; Goad et al., GCNC 30702) down to 19.9 mag.
