RE: AMON ICECUBE_CASCADE Notice type is available
DT: 31 July 2020

INTRODUCTION:
The GCN system has been modified to incorporate the distribution
of the AMON_ICECUBE_CASCADE Notice type.
The AMON_ICECUBE_CASCADE notice reports on single high-energy neutrino events
in the IceCube instrument -- time of event, direction, energy, & other fields are available.
The time delay is small 30-60 sec.
The AMON_ICECUBE_CASCADE notice reports on single high-energy neutrino events
with high purity (>85% are astrophysical).
Like all the other sources of transient information within the GCN system,
users can elect to receive this AMON_ICECUBE_CASCADE Notice type.

OCCURRENCE RATE:
There will be about 8 AMON_ICECUBE_CASCADE Notices per year.

TIME DELAY:
The time delays for this notice type are very small;
it ranges between 30 and 60 sec.

LOCATION ERROR:
The location uncertainties are in the 3 - 30 deg range (radius, 90% containment, statistical
plus systematics); and 2 - 20deg (radius, 50% containment, statistical plus systematics).

NOTICE TYPE, CONTENT, and PURPOSE:
This notice type contains a discovery of high-energy ( > 10 TeV) neutrinos in IceCube
and their RA,Dec direction with short latency (30-60 sec).
The Notices contain the Event Name, date, time, and the FAR.

ACTION ITEM:
If, after reviewing the information below, you want to receive
these AMON_ICECUBE_CASCADE notices, please send me a request to have them enabled.
You can do this by forwarding this email (which has your sitename identifier, a must-have)
to sbarthel at milkyway.gsfc.nasa.gov .
OR
You can go to http://gcn.gsfc.nasa.gov/gcn/config_builder.html
and select "#2 Modify an existing config" (and type in your sitename).
You can also take this opportunity to make other changes to your configuration.

ARCHIVE STORAGE:
The GCN/AMON_ICECUBE_CASCADE Notices are archived within the GCN website
in the Table of AMON_ICECUBE_CASCADE Notices:
    https://gcn.gsfc.nasa.gov/amon_icecube_cascade_events.html

MORE INFORMATION:
Can be found at: http://gcn.gsfc.nasa.gov/gcn/amon.html

NOTICE EXAMPLES:
Here is an example of a full-format email AMON_ICECUBE_CASCADE Notice,
in the VOEvent format, and a pointer to the 160Byte-binary packet format:
(Note all values are made up for this listing of the contents.)
