RE: AMON IceCube EHE Notice type is available
DT: 15 July 2016

INTRODUCTION:
The GCN system has been modified to incorporate the distribution
of the AMON_ICECUBE_EHE (Extreme High Energy) Notice type.
The ICECUBE_EHE event is due to a single extemely high energy neutrino.
Like all the other sources of transient information within the GCN system,
users can elect to receive this AMON_ICECUBE_EHE Notice type.

OCCURRENCE RATE:
There will be about 4-6 AMON_ICECUBE_EHE Notices per year.

TIME DELAY:
The time delays for this notice type will range from 0.5 to 3 minutes
after the neutrino interacts in the IceCube detector.

LOCATION ERROR:
The location uncertainties are in the 0.1-0.4 deg range (radius, stat+sys, 50% containment).
The uncertainty in the location is nearly flat across neutrino energies
for this stream of through going neutrino tracks. This uncertainty represents
a quality of the online position reconstruction, and it is computed in
real time for each alert.

NOTICE TYPE, CONTENT, and PURPOSE:
The AMON_ICECUBE_EHE is the second notice type to be released (the AMON_ICECUBE_HESE was the first).
The AMON_ICECUBE_EHE is the result of IceCube detecting a single high-energy neutrino (>1 PeV)
in their detector with a good track-like deposition (ie not cascade-like).
These can be caused by Supernova, GRBs, other astrophysical transients, and sometimes background.
The Notices contain the date, time, and trigger number, the probability
of an event being astrophysical in origin, and false_positive probability and
the p-value probability. It contains the RA,Dec location
of the direction that this single high-energy neutrino came from.

ACTION ITEM:
If, after reviewing the information below, you want to receive
these AMON_ICECUBE_EHE notices, please send me a request to have them enabled.
You can do this by forwarding this email (which has your sitename identifier)
to sbarthel at milkyway.gsfc.nasa.gov .
OR
You can go to http://gcn.gsfc.nasa.gov/gcn/config_builder.html
and select "#2 Modify an existing config" (and type in your sitename).
You can also take this opportunity to make other changes to your configuration.

ARCHIVE STORAGE:
The GCN/AMON_ICECUBE_EHE Notices are archived within the GCN website
in the Table of AMON_ICECUBE_EHE Notices:
    http://gcn.gsfc.nasa.gov/gcn/amon_ehe_events.html
