RE:  GCN down for computer upgrade

(Apologies to those of you that receive this twice: the Notice list & the Circulars list)


GCN will be off-line from 14:00 to 15:00 UT on 09 May 2017
(10-11 AM Eastern US time)[1] while the computer is being upgraded[2].
Collection and distribution of GCN Notices & Circulars will not be available[3].
Nearly all Notices produced by the contributing missions/projects
during that time window will be lost[4],
but Circulars submitted during that window will be held in a queue
for later distribution after the upgrade is completed.

[1] The time slot was picked to minimize lost time from contributing missions (LIGO).

[2] The computer is being replaced with a new unit, and (nearly) hot-swappable
back-up redunancy is being added.

[3] The website will still be available (https://gcn.gsfc.nasa.gov);
it is hosted on a different computer.

[4] Those Notice submissions sent to GCN via the email importation method
will be recoverable, but of course will have some latency added.
