Kris Stanek (ASAS-SN) points out that ASASSN-21gk may be a "weird CV":

Complete ASAS-SN Sky Patrol light curve and data:

According to ATLAS data the 'orange magnitude' was 12.67 from 2021 April 17.489
to 17.518 UT, whereas in the years before it had been 13.1-13.2.

AAVSO data (currently 65 observations from *one* observer):

Follow-up observations are urgently required (spectroscopy in particular).

Clear skies,
Patrick
