Please remember the case of ASASSN-20da
(looks very similar). This object had a spectrum
of a normal star (ATel #13573).

[vsnet-alert 24145] ASASSN-20da: possible period

Josch Hambsch and Berto Monard reported observations
of this unusual object. There were slow modulations
in the light curve and they can be expressed by
a period of 1.313(2) d, double humps with different
peaks in one cycle. The full amplitude was 0.12 mag.
The period may be that of an underlying binary
(if present).
