Hallo,
we're writing you from Righi Astronomical Observatory, Genoa, Italy.
The images here attached may be interesting for you because they've
been taken on Aug. 24, about 20 UT.
Only yesterday night we realized that the images, taken by Marina
Costa (Righi Astronomical Observatory) may be the earliest, or about,
of the supernova after your discovery.

Caption “M101 with Supernova.jpg”
This images is the sum of 7 frames, taken by Marina Costa from "La
Maliarda", Rossiglione, near the city of Genoa (IT) on Aug 24th,
around 22h 00m TMEC+1 (20h 00m UT). The camera used is a Canon EOS 40D
modified with a Baader filter at the direct focus of a Pentax 75 SDHF
telescope on Losmandy G8 mount. Software elaboration has been done
with Nebulosity v. 2.1.2

Caption “Supernova in M101.jpg”
On the right the M101 galaxy taken by Marina Costa during the night of
Aug, 9th (when there the supernova was still to explode). On the left,
the same object shot on Aug, 24th, at 20 UT when the supernova, in the
circle, was just exploded.
