Hello,

I am a commercial pilot and observed something in the sky tonight.

The time was 0053z

Our lat-long was 45.37n 73.12w

track 287 heading 286

It was to the right of Jupiter and Venus, perhaps near Cassiopeia or
Triangulum using my rudimentary iPhone app as a guide.

In layman's terms it was hazy, looked like a ring with a short tail.
It didn't have any movement within it, but as we watched it did slowly
sink below the western horizon.

I would be interested to know what we were looking at. I do not study
astronomy but searched the Internet and saw there is SN2012aw being
spoken about lately.
