For readers' potential interest, the outburst already started in 2006
(see also that CBET issue). The initial announcement of brightening
was reported by Berto Monard (vsnet-alert 8913, 2006 April).
His subsequent observations in 2006 were as follows:
YYYYMMDD(UT) mag observer
20060402.060 12.00V (Berto Monard)
20060430.119 11.97V (Berto Monard)
20060622.110 12.08V (Berto Monard)
20060719.860 12.24V (Berto Monard)
20060827.850 12.42V (Berto Monard)
20060924.800 12.55V (Berto Monard)
20061122.740 12.96V (Berto Monard)
So, it would be fairer to refer to this detection in describing
the current state of activity.
