[vsnet-outburst 20021] ASASSN-16lj: new SU UMa-type dwarf nova

Dear colleagues,
 
I have just concluded the analysis of a 2016, Oct 08/09 unfiltered CCD photometry session of ASASSN-16lj. Observations were made at CBA Belgium Observatory,  using a 0.35-m f/6.3 telescope and STT-3200ME CCD camera, under clear skies. The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of superhumps with an amplitude of 0.30 mag. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a combined period of 0.0866 +/- 0.0009d. The object currently is at mag 16.1 (unfiltered).


Further observations are evidently encouraged. 

Observations will be sent to CBA and VSNET for further analysis.
