Dear colleagues,
I obtained unfiltered CCD observations of 1RXS J012750.5+380830 on 2020, Oct 26/27 and Oct 27/28 at CBA Extremadura Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera.
Below are the corresponding two light curves. On Oct 26/27th, the object was at average mag. CV 14.4, showing a 0.4 mag 'hump like' structure near JD 2459149.47, which - looking at the partial real-time light curve of that night - I misinterpreted as a superhump (Taichi Kato corrected this in vsnet-outburst 25934). The full light curve clearly shows this is not a superhump signature. One night later, the object showed variations with an amplitude of up to 1.0 mag (!) interleaved with smaller-amplitude variations, while it faded to average mag CV 15.4.
This is an ackward variable. Anybody who has a clue on what type of variable we are observing here?
Best regards
Tonny
