[vsnet-outburst 26431] ASASSN-15cu: new eclipsing dwarf nova

Dear colleagues,

I have just finished analysing my unfiltered CCD observations of
ASASSN-15cu, obtained last night (2021, Jan 10/11) at CBA Extremadura
Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/10.0 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera under
clear skies. 

The object clearly was already fading from its recent outburst and had an
average unfiltered magnitude CV = 18.2. During my 2.15h session I could not
detect an evident superhump signal. However, I managed to detect an eclipse
in this system, with a depth of about 1.0 mag (reaching mag 19.1 CV),
establishing this object as a new eclipsing dwarf nova. I made a visual
double check of my images to rule out image artefacts, clouds or other
factors. 

The object unfortunately is becoming too faint for my setup, so I will not
be able to follow up during the current outburst. Looking at the ZTF
observations of ASASSN-15cu, it may have outbursts every 45d or so, making
it hopefully possible to soon collect follow-up observations.

I will send my observations to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.
