This object matches the face on spiral galaxy PGC 2394097.
It has very different magnitudes (ranging from 11.3R (USNO-B1.0) to 18.4G
(Gaia DR1)) depending on the survey's resolution.

I am surprised that no mention to this galaxy has been made both in the
original discovery post and the follow-up observations.

Josch, can you check your images? Is it just a galactic CV superposed to the
galaxy or a SN and the periodocity is spurious?

Cheers,
Sebastian

ASASSN-17ei: new SU UMa-type DN

Josch Hambsch has reported the observations. The object shows
superhumps
with a period of 0.058 d and amplitudes of 0.04-0.05 mag.
