>>> Please check V906 Oph
ASAS-SN detection. This is a classical nova (1952).
The object has been positively detected on four most recent nights in the
ASAS-SN data.

V0906Oph 17:26:09.70 -21:54:28.00 <<<

The chart in IBVS 2585 has a very low resolution but the star marked is
approximately 70" away (around 17 26 15 -21 54.6 J2000.0) from the current
GCVS/VSX/ASAS-SN position. There are two Gaia objects of G mag. 20.3 and
18.4 in this area, 9" to the NW of a 15.7 mag. star (2MASS
J17261534-2154425).

Duerbeck's reference catalogue and atlas of galactic novae identifies it as
2MASS J17261602-2154389 (V ~17.6 according to GSC2.3) at 17 26 16.02 -21 54
38.9 (J2000.0) mentioning the low resolution charts available and the
uncertain identification.
Downes comments that Duerbeck's identification should be discarded.

There are no observations of the nova in quiescence so any observations in
this field would be useful.
It would be interesting to confirm the ASAS-SN brightening at the currently
catalogued position of V0906 Oph.

Cheers,
Sebastian
