Dear colleagues,

Further to the below message, I have now also analysed my 2018, Aug 14/15 unfiltered CCD photometry data of ASASSN-18ru. Observations were made at CBA Extremadura Observatory (Spain), using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera, under a very clear sky.

The combined (detrended) light curve of both nights still clearly shows the presence of superhumps with an amplitude of 0.22 mag. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a refined superhump period of 0.0601 +/- 0.0003d. The object was at mag 15.4 (CV) on Aug 14th.

Observations will be sent to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Best regards
Tonny

Dear colleagues,

I have just concluded the analysis of my 2018, Aug 13/14 unfiltered CCD photometry session of ASASSN-18ru. Observations were made at CBA Extremadura Observatory (Spain), using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera, under a very clear sky.

The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of superhumps with an amplitude of 0.22 mag. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a combined superhump period of 0.0613 +/- 0.0014d. The object was at mag 15.1 (CV) on Aug 13th.

Astrometry: 17h 49m 30.94s, +02° 49’ 36.2” (with 0.3” residual).

Observations will be sent to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Best regards
Tonny
