Dear colleagues,

I have just concluded the analysis of my 2019, Apr 02/03 unfiltered CCD photometry session of ASASSN-19ib. Observations were made at CBA Extremadura Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and Trius SX-46 CCD camera, under very clear skies. My observations were triggered by the detection announcement on the ASASSN Transients webpage.

The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of superhumps with an amplitude of about 0.54 mag, and superimposed with (most likely) eclipses of 0.95 mag depth. The profile of the superhumps shows some complexity, suggesting either early superhumps or ordinary ones, hence classifying this object as a new SU UMa or WZ Sge type dwarf nova. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a combined superhump period of 0.0566 +/- 0.0007d. The object was at mag 16.6 (CV) on Apr 03rd.

I will send my observations to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Follow-up observations are highly recommended. I plan another session on this target later tonight.

Best regards
Tonny
