Dear colleagues,

I have just concluded the analysis of 3 nights of unfiltered CCD photometry
observations of TCP J00590972+3438357: 2019, Dec 14/15, Dec 15/16 and Dec
17/18. The first two sets of observations were obtained at CBA Belgium
Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/10.0 telescope and STT-3200ME CCD camera,
while the observations on the 3rd night were made at CBA Extremadura
Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera. Except for
the middle night, conditions were not favourable (broken clouds).

There was a hint of a weak periodic modulation with very low amplitude in
the first night of observations, which however was absent during the next
two observing sessions. The last two nights (Dec 15/16 and Dec 17/18) both
show the presence of a periodic modulation with an amplitude of 0.08 mag,
that might be indicative of the emergence of early superhumps, in which case
TCP J00590972+3438357 will qualify as a new WZ Sge-type variable. A period
analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a
combined superhump period of 0.0626 +/- 0.0015d.

The object was of mag 13.10 (CV) on Dec 14.72 UT, mag 13.30 (CV) on Dec
15.71 UT and mag 13.52 (CV) on Dec 17.82 UT.

Follow-up observations are very highly recommended to further study this
variable.

I will send my observations to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Best regards

Tonny
