Dear colleagues,

I have just finished analysing my unfiltered CCD observations of ASASSN-20lp, obtained on 2020, Sep 15/16 at CBA Extremadura Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera under clear skies.

Superhumps with an amplitude of 0.27 mag are clearly visible in the light curve, whereas no superhumps were seen in my observations of Sep 11, 12, 13 and 14. This establishes ASASSN-20lp as a new SU UMa-type dwarf nova. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle, Generalized-Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso 3.0, under development), yields a combined superhump period of 0.0561 +/- 0.0009d. The object was at mag 16.5 (CV) on Sep 15th.

I will send my observations to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Follow-up observations are recommended to further study this system.

Best regards
Tonny
