SS Cyg: a precursor outburst ?

The recent AAVSO visual observations, SS Cyg is as bright as 8.6 mag.
This may be an onset of a long outburst.  (As pointed out in
vsnet-alert 24714, SS Cyg normally repeats two short and
one long outbursts.)
When SS Cyg enters a long outburst, it sometimes shows a precursor.
The mechanism of that precursor is still unclear, and also,
it is unknown whether SS Cyg always shows a precursor
at the rising part to the light maximum of a long outburst.
The precursor lasts for only a couple of days and intensive photometry
around the light maximum is needed to investigate this matter.
(In this outburst, we may miss observing the precursor .. )
