Dear colleagues,

I just concluded analysing my unfiltered CCD observations of ASASSN-20mp otbained on 2020, Sep 29/30, at CBA Extremadura Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera under mostly clear skies.

The resulting light curve shows a periodic modulation which most likely relates to superhumps, establishing ASASSN-20mp as a likely new SU UMa-type dwarf nova. The superhump amplitude is 0.4 mag. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle, Generalized Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso 3.0, in Beta test), yields a superhump period of 0.0691 +/- 0.0017d. The object was at mag 16.7 (CV) on Sep 30th, so quite faint for my setup.

I will send my observations to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Follow-up observations are recommended to confirm the SU UMa-type nature of this object.

Best regards
Tonny
