Dear colleagues,

I have just finished analysing my unfiltered CCD observations of ASASSN-14mk, obtained tonight (2020, Nov 29/30) at CBA Belgium Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/10.0 telescope and STT-3200ME CCD camera under poor skies (strong moonlight; haze).

Superhumps with an amplitude of 0.34 mag are clearly in the resulting light curve, establishing ASASSN-14mk as a new SU UMa-type dwarf nova. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle, Generalized-Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso 3.0, to be released end of December), yields a combined superhump period of 0.0684 +/- 0.0008d. The object was at mag 16.6 (CV) on Nov 29th.

I will send my observations to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Follow-up observations are recommended to refine the superhump period.

Best regards
Tonny
