BO Cet: large-amplitude variation, superhumps?
According to observations by Josch Hambsch,
this object started to show smooth variations with
large amplitudes (0.2 mag) since Feb. 15.
Since each runs were shorter than the orbital
period, these variations may be a signature of
the appearance of superhumps. Time-series
observations at different longitudes (the object
is visible only for a short time in the evening)
would clarify the nature of the variations.
The object is currently as bright as (or even
brighter than) the 2020 November, totally unexpected,
superoutburst.
