Dear colleagues,
Rod Stubbings reported his detection of a rare outburst
(the first since the discovery?) of V1327 Aql. The position
is 19h56m18.95s, +01o46'44.2", and a finding chart is given
in the catalog of Downes et al.:
http://icarus.stsci.edu/~downes/cvcat/ .
This star has been very poorly studied. Available
information is only a spectrum obtained by Twitter and Munari
(1995, A&AS, 114, 575), except for the discovery paper by
Hoffmeister (1964, Astron. Nach., 288, 49). The spectrum
seems to have been taken in outburst, judging from the
Balmer absorption lines and the magnitude of V=17.0. But
the spectrophotometric colors at that time appeared rather
red, B-V=+0.44, V-R=+0.23, R-I=+0.34, although errors are
not written for the V mag and these colors.
We don't have enough information to conclude the nature of
this star. A confirmatory observation of this outburst is
needed, at first. Does anyone have an access to the discovery
paper?
Best regards,
Daisaku Nogami
