V426 Oph outburst
We recieved a report from M. Linnolt that V426 Oph is now
in outburst:
OPHV426 20070730.349 11.9V LMK
Just now, we have confirmed the outburst with TRISPEC/KANATA:
OPHV426 20070730.460 11.5V Higashi-Hiroshima Observatory
OPHV426 20070730.460 10.7J Higashi-Hiroshima Observatory
OPHV426 20070730.460 10.2Ks Higashi-Hiroshima Observatory
The object had been in a calm state (possibly a standstill, but
showing a gradual fading) for the last three months without major outbursts, while its outburst cycle is usually 22~d (Hessman 1998).
The current red color (V-J=0.8) is probably attributed to its
large K3V secondary star.
