Re: Superhumps in SDSS J155644.24-000950.2
Maehara-san apparently failed to mention that Nakajima-san covered
the initial three nights. Although superhumps had not yet fully grown,
the data provide an additional support to the alias selection.
An analysis of the combined data (since July 29) yielded the best
superhump period of 0.08391(4) d. This alias selection is also
consistent with the period determination during the 2006 March
superoutburst.
The long superhump period and likely long supercycle (~500 d),
as well as the relatively large outburst amplitude (~6 mag or slightly
larger) would make the object a member of a relatively rare class
of long-period SU UMa-type dwarf novae like AB Nor and TU Crt
(see a discussion in MNRAS 347, 861).
Further observations are naturally strongly encouraged.
