SS Aur anomalous state?
SS Aur is undergoing an outburst now. This outburst took longer time
than usual, about 2 days, to reach the maximum. And this outburst seems
to be slow brifly around 14th mag.
There days, this star tend to take longer time to reach the maximum
than before (for example, around 2003).
In addition, this star have not undergone for three months. Since this
star shows outbursts per 2 months or so, this interval is pretty long.
These facts imply the possibility of a peculiar state in this star.
Since this star already has such irregular episodes as faint and frequent
outbursts, please pay attention to this famous but strange star.
