Further to the below messages, a week of clouded skies have now cleared and
it is now evident that RY Sgr has not faded to a deep decline and remains at
maximum.  Recent visual observations under bright moon:

As per vsnet-rcb 811 below, RY Sgr is presently at the lower end of its
normal range but it is not yet clear if a decline is underway.  I guess this
should become apparent over the next week or so.
