Can any one confirm GK Per is slightly brighter than usual? I had it at 12.6 this morning (11th July)
Bob Dryden We observed GK Per about one hour earlier. The brightness was g~12.05. The object will be undergoing an outburst.

Hi all, I'm Mariko Kimura at Kanazawa University, used to be a member of VSNET group. My proposal of the X-ray satellite of XRISM on GK Per has been approved with priority A. I will trigger a ToO to get high-resolution X-ray spectra of this object around the outburst maximum to identify the mechanism of short-term variability. I hope this object enters a large outburst, and would be very happy if you continue optical monitoring observations. Thank you, Mariko On 2026/07/12 5:15, Gary Poyner via vsnet-alert wrote:
