TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 41690 SUBJECT: The EP-WXT trigger 01709201209 is likely a flaring star DATE: 25/09/04 05:01:21 GMT FROM: EP Team at NAOC/CAS <ep_ta@bao.ac.cn> R.-Z. Li (YNAO, CAS), H. Z. Wu (HUST), M. J. Liu and H. W. Pan (NAO, CAS) on behalf of the Einstein Probe (EP) team: The EP-WXT trigger 01709201209 at the time of 2025-09-04T03:24:02, is likely a stellar flare associated with 1RXS J020013.6-084106. The estimated flux of the flare is around 4x10^-10 erg/s/cm^2 in 0.5-4.0 keV, corresponding to an X-ray luminosity of around 6.5x10^31 erg/s. Launched on January 9, 2024, EP is a space X-ray observatory to monitor the soft X-ray sky with X-ray follow-up capability (Yuan et al. 2022, Handbook of X-ray and Gamma-ray Astrophysics).
