TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 38643 SUBJECT: GRB 241221A: Fermi GBM Final Real-time Localization DATE: 24/12/21 00:33:14 GMT FROM: Fermi GBM Team at MSFC/Fermi-GBM <do_not_reply@GIOC.nsstc.nasa.gov> The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely LONG GRB At 00:22:34 UT on 21 Dec 2024, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 241221A (trigger 756433359.308788 / 241221016). The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 79.5, Dec = 29.2 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 05h 17m, 29d 11'), with a statistical uncertainty of 11.1 degrees. The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 68.0 degrees. The skymap can be found here: https://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/FTP/fermi/data/gbm/triggers/2024/bn241221016/q...
