[vsnet-obs 100021] Question: submitting photometry
Hello, We're first-time observers hoping to report recent CCD photometry of three dwarf novae (SS Cyg, AR And, LX And), gathered 2026-08-31 with a 30mm ZWO Seestar S30 Pro (green/TG channel, ensemble differential photometry against AAVSO VSP chart comparisons, already cross-checked against real community light curves before we trusted the numbers). We've also just submitted this same data to the AAVSO International Database. Before posting to this list, we wanted to check on process, since our data is a bit more detailed than the basic one-line magnitude report format we've seen described (name / UT date / magnitude / filter / observer): 1. Is there a preferred way to submit a fuller report -- e.g. with per-star uncertainty, comparison ensemble details, and a short note -- or should we condense to the standard one-line-per-observation format for vsnet-obs? 2. Can we attach a data file (e.g. the AAVSO Extended Format file we already prepared, attached here) rather than retyping everything inline, or does this list expect plain-text body only? 3. We understand we need to be subscribed to vsnet-acc before posting -- is that still the correct first step, and is there anything else a new observer should do first? Happy to reformat however works best for the list. Thank you for any guidance. Best regards, Vivian Dai
