Dear all,

I have pleasure confirming the eruption of U Sco. Using a 40-cm f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera at CBA Extremadura Observatory (Spain), I obtained 15 V-band exposures of U Sco, yielding following average magnitude:

2022 Jun 06.886 UT, V = 8.71

Congrats to Masayuki-san with this detection.

Best regards
Tonny

No minor planet brighter than mag. 15 was was within a radius of 1° on 2022 June 6.72 UT.

Eruptions [sic] occur every 10 +/-2 years. The previous one was detected on 2010 January 28.

Confirmation of the current eruption, spectroscopy and multiband as well as time-resolved photometry are urgently required.

Clear skies,
Patrick
