SN 2005dm is a peculiar "dim and red" SN Ia. Rare event.

# Wishing for Yamaoka-san's follow-up.

# Incidentally, I was the person who made a confirmatory observation
# and the first-epoch multicolor photometry of SN 1991bg.

The Nearby Supernova Factory reports that a spectrum (range 320-1000 nm)
of SN 2005dm (CBET #203), obtained Aug 27.6 UT with the Supernova Integral
Field Spectrograph on the University of Hawaii 2.2-meter telescope, shows
it to be a peculiar Type Ia supernova around maximum light. The spectrum
is similar to that of the underluminous SN 1991bg, exhibiting a classic
Ti II trough at 400-450 nm.
