[Vsnet-alert 8419] BV Cen Possible Outburst 20050531

Hello All,

The peculiar dwarf nova BV Cen is in outburst.  This appears to be the first recorded outburst since the minor outburst of 2001 when it reached near mag12.0.  Prior to this, it underwent a major eruption in 2000 peaking at mag11.2.  Further observations are needed to confirm the peak brightness of the current outburst.
