Hi,

V591 Cen has been reported in outburst since a couple of nights already
by Rod Stubbings. Taichi Kato has urged for follow up photometry.

Images of V591 Cen, made this morning during dawn at CBA Pretoria show
the outbursting object to be a couple of arcseconds NW of the assumed
star and position indicated in the SIMBAD database.
0.0163 12 42 18.11 -33 34 09.4 0564-0295042 5 17.25 15.39
16.30 15.78 15.56 / USNO-B1.0

The CV atlas considers V591 Cen as a non-cv based on spectral
measurements performed probably on this assumed counterpart.

The outbursting object is not shown on DSS2-red to a magnitude limit of
beyound 20. The DSS2-blue gives a hint of its existence as an extension
of the previously assumed ID star in NW direction.
A preliminary visual, non astrometric estimate of the position on the
image vs USNO-B1.0 gives coordinates (2000) 12 42 17.95 -33 34 07.8.
USNO-B1.0 and 2Mass show no star close by.

Proper astrometry on better images will allow for more precise
coordinates.

Regards,

Berto Monard
CBA Pretoria
