Hello there

ATEL 1416 notes (taking its cue from ATEL 1413)

"CSS080130:021110+171624 = Possible CV: a blue continuum with narrow Balmer emission lines (alpha through epsilon, possibly higher); but no obvious helium or other lines."

This has been shown and confirmed to be a CV for around a month.

Noted first in cvnet-discussion by Patrick Wils

confirmed by Tom Krajci and Tonny Vanmunster as summarised here

plus thread connections, and another note pertaining to outburst frequency can be found here

On VSNET, which ATEL 1418 suggests the authors of ATEL 1416 are familiar with, we have independent confirmation it seems

Does the CSS transient team have some mechanism or contact such that matters like this don't get lost in the flow?

Obviously it would be inconvenient for you to be bombarded by trivial notices, but there is a long established environment of serious and experienced pro-am orientated, as well as professional, observers in the cataclymic variable field who exhibit a fast response time to the slightest hint of a potential new cataclysmic variable, and in this instance a full determination of this object including taxonomic subtype and superhump period has been available for about a month, thanks to your voevent notification pages making the community able to be aware of it.

Just for your information, feel free to treat however.

Thank you for your time

John
